EDCTP 10th Forum 2021 - Equity in research for health

The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) organises a virtual event:

Tenth EDCTP Forum :

Equity in research for health

17 - 21 October 2021

Virtual meeting hosted from the

Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, Mozambique

Call for abstracts (oral and poster presentations) deadline extended to : 8 July 2021.

Abstracts are to be submitted using the dedicated online portal.

Registration for the virtual Forum is open and free.

The Forum theme – Equity in research for health – is at the core of the EDCTP mission. The second EDCTP programme, EDCTP2, has seen increasing participation from across Africa and Europe in its projects. Nevertheless, gender and geographical disparities remain. Engagement and input in discussions at the Forum about successes and challenges in achieving equity in research, and how best to ensure that research processes and outputs address health inequities are welcome.

The host partners, the Ministry of Health of Mozambique, through the National Institute of Health and the Manhiça Health Research Centre promise an exciting and interactive meeting experience.

The Forum objectives reflect the need for global research cooperation in preparedness and response to disease outbreaks, in public health emergencies, and in strengthening health systems. Awareness of this need has never been greater than it is now.

programme :

The hybrid format of the Forum (virtual and live from Maputo) presents a platform to take stock of the activities and achievements of currently operational Europe-Africa research and capacity building partnerships, including their contribution to strengthening the clinical research environment in African countries and progress towards sustainable development goals.

EDCTP is proud of its record in supporting the career development of African scientists, with more than 240 postgraduate students and 196 fellows supported under EDCTP2, many of whom will attend the Forum and contribute to its programme. Participation from all stakeholders working in the remit of EDCTP2 are encouraged.

The programme is available on the event website
